It was surprising for me when I ran the DCNM on Eve-ng. I thought that it properly wouldn't work. I installed the Cisco DCNM on Eve-ng and created the following topology.
My Lab Properties:
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz
Installed RAM: 64.0 GB
Add the DCNM image to Eve-ng. We can add the DCNM image according to this link. After the DCNM image is added to Eve-ng, we will create the topology and add the below components to the topology. "Net" will be used for accessing the DCNM web interface management.
Now we can proceed to the DCNM installation;
1. Run the DCNM and Select the installation.
2. Wait for the below screen. My server has 3 ethernet cards on the server. I assigned the ethernets to the interfaces(Management, Out of Band, and In-Band).
The Management Network is the main network connection used for reaching the DCNM web user interface. When High Availability is enabled, 3 IP addresses are required on this network.
The Out-of-Band Network provides connectivity to the device management ports (typically mgmt0). When High Availability is enabled, 3 IP addresses are required on this network.
The In-Band Network provides reachability to the devices via the front-panel ports. When High Availability is enabled, 3 IP addresses are required on this network.
The In-Band Network is not needed for now.
3. After selecting "Continue installation" as Yes. I defined the IP address as the following.
4. After finishing the Installation, we will select the boot option and continue over the web interface.
5. Web installation part;
The following page will welcome us.
Click the "Get Started". The installation will be started
Select "Standalone" I don't have enough resources for HA right now :)
After this step, complete the below configurations
After the password section, you will see four install mode sections like below.
I will select the LAN Fabric mode. If you want, you can select the classic LAN option. But, The classic LAN option is known to everyone. We should try the LAN fabric.
We will complete the configuration below.
The installation will be finished when it reaches a hundred percent.
DCNM is ready to be accessed via the web interface. It may take a few minutes. Please be patient.
Thanks for Reading.
